A small team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring all of the unused space around the building to life but they need more volunteers to help. Anyone from complete novices to experienced gardeners are welcome to come along and get stuck in.

Thanks to funding from players of The People's Postcode Lottery, they have been able to take a disused piece of neglected land and turn it into what you see now!

For those with little gardening knowledge, it will be a great opportunity to learn skills from fellow gardeners. For those with design and growing experience to share, it will be a chance to be a part of exciting plans to transform the grounds into an amazing space for the community and wildlife.

Around 6,000 people a year use the centre – over time our community garden will become a space to relax, play and learn. Through gardening activities, events and other outdoor projects we will promote conservation, food growing, self-sustainability, and health and wellbeing.

Work on the grounds also ties in with another project, Wildlife Connections, in partnership with Chester Zoo, which aims to increase habitats for native wildlife.
